This article is about the demographic features of the population of Namibia, including population density, ethnicity, education level, health of the populace, economic status, religious affiliations and other aspects of the population.
Namibians are of diverse ethnic origins. The principal groups are the Ovambo, Kavango, Herero/Himba, Damara, mixed race (Coloured and Rehoboth Baster), White Namibians (Afrikaner, German, British and Portuguese), Nama, Caprivian (Lozi), San, and Tswana. The Coloureds and Basters share similar genealogical origins and cultural attributes (such as home language) but nonetheless maintain distinctly separate communal identities, as do most white Namibians and black Namibians, respectively.

Namibia ist extrem dünn besiedelt. Nach der Mongolei ist Namibia der Staat mit der geringsten Bevölkerungsdichte weltweit. Auf jeden Quadratkilometer Landesfläche kommen 2,55 Einwohner (zum Vergleich: Deutschland 231).
Die Bevölkerung verteilt sich zudem sehr ungleichmäßig. Sie konzentriert sich auf wenige Städte und den fruchtbaren Norden des Landes. Nahezu zwei Drittel der Bevölkerung lebt in den Regionen nördlich des Veterinärzauns (Omusati, Oshana, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, Kavango und Caprivi). Ein weiteres Drittel lebt in Zentralnamibia, wo allein in Windhoek mehr als 350.000 Menschen ihren Wohnsitz haben. Im Süden des Landes leben nur sieben Prozent der Einwohner, während der Westen und die Namib-Wüste mit Ausnahme der Hafenstädte nahezu menschenleer ist.
